PROJECT STATEMENT
The dynamics of the psyche are often shaped and realized by the happenings involving the outer self. What we do, the things we aspire for, and our outlooks in life build a universe inside ourselves that grows as our ultimate identity. What we cultivate in us is the summary of various niches of our consciousness–one that perpetuates as a complete and unified personal terrain.
Inner Landscapes revolves around this sense of identity and belongingness, reflected in landscape photography. Through the photographs, the artists present a part of their own internal universes to the public. Collectively adorned in a balance of nature and concrete, the exhibit punctuates the paradox of revealing in absence–that these photographs are mere self-portraits of the side that is not seen but speaks in amplified tones of the landscapes’ “residents.”
